Divorce and Domestic Abuse or Alcohol or Drug Abuse

Divorce is much more complex in a situation involving drug or alcohol abuse, or domestic abuse or violence.  The financial advice in this site and our book applies but there are additional professionals that may need to get involved in order to address these complex and difficult problems.  An attorney familiar with these issues is highly recommended in this situation, and a Guardian Ad Litem may be required if there are children Involved.  See the Guardian Ad Litem article for more information.
